About Me

The story of me begins in 1986 when Romance Moore and James Sewell decided it would be a good idea to make a baby, and thus I was born. On June 3rd of 1986 at 3:33am, without much hesitation I was ushered into the world, which makes me the bright and morning star. I was given the name Travis by my mother and granted my father’s last name Sewell however neither of these are my name. This massive event took place in a large house on the 37th block of King Drive in Chicago Illinois. My mother was 19. I grew up on the south side of Chicago, the low end. My home was a four flat building owned by my great, great, great grandma Australia Gather who bought the house in the early 1920s. However, within the course of my life I have called many places home, for instance a small housing community a few blocks down we on the low end like to call The Stanchions. I lived and was bread on the 7th floor of 5 40. This is where I wrote my first word, and with the help of my cousin, found out I was given the gift of song. Fast forward into the future 21 years and I am one of the greatest songwriters you will ever meet. I have been fortunate to live this life without much struggle. Not that i havent struggled, but the God I serve has blessed me with favor, and for that I am grateful, but because of it my purpose is great. I was blessed with the gift of words, and to that effect, I am a poet, songwriter, storyteller, scribe, and much more. I write the best in my solitude but even in the most crowded room, not a word alludes me. I can hear the truth through words and it makes me an honest person when most people are not. Words have been with me from child hood when I spoke my first, to 10 when I wrote that “anything not living is dying,” to 15 when I wrote and recorded my first demo. Words have been my rock and fortress and in them is my comfort.
